Blair Mahar has taught Biology at Hoosac Valley High School in Adams, MA for two decades. He is a military veteran having served a tour in the “sandbox” with the US Air Force during Desert Storm. Blair returned home to the Berkshires in 1996 where he now lives with his wife and 2 kids. Blair produced the documentary Purple Mountain Majesty that tells the rich history of skiing the Thunderbolt Trail in Adams. Blair is a founding member of the Thunderbolt Ski Runners, serving as TSR president for 3 years and as Thunderbolt Race Director in 2010, 2011 and 2015. He is the curator of the Thunderbolt Ski Museum and this year has spearheaded the return of the Team category to the annual Race. The Greylock Cup which will be awarded to the Ski Club whose team members post the fastest aggregate time down the mountain.
Blair has skied throughout the Northeast and in Germany, Austria and Italy. In his spare time he enjoys playing soccer, mountain biking, reading, working on old tractors, and a cold Mountain Dew.
